All today's The elephant faces

The first time when the elephant skulls were found, It was an open question of  how the sensory organs were distributed to through his face. There was not similar animals to compare physiology. The most mammals despite, having few living relatives, could be done as an accurate identification of facial features were made, but with elephant and some other mammals was an mystery.
Before the discovery of more complete remains, came many theories about the face, here we present the two oldest, and a new based on the skeleton preserved a specimen with traces of skin on it:

(Left) The Cyclops: It is theorized that this animal may have possessed a unique eye, although it had been a problem in terms of depth perception, would compensate this with the large size of this, giving it a wide range of vision.

(Middle) The Snail-eyes: It was a later theory proposed about elephants could not be Cyclops, but they if possessed two eyes, but the orbits of these came together at some point in the past, and simultaneously, they began to get out of their orbits and evolved so similar to the eyes of snails. This is further supported by the analysis of the skull, which had discovered a large internal cavity which was assumed as the space where they could be retracted his eyes. 

(Right) Front Ears: Something that was heretical at first, but by the evidence gathered could be plausible, is based that only hole in the front possessed the function of the ear, this is because the specimen that supports this argument has been discovered with what appear be "muscle structure which extend from inside the orifice and projecting a semi oval shape"
Added to this, other parts of this specimen suggest that the slit below the hole, could have been some kind of gland of unknown purpose, perhaps was producing some substance. The reason for this is that other muscle mass was found in semicylindrical form was also identified, almost touching the skull
