These brand new "herbivores", which evolved 85 mya after the extinction of the human race, during the fall of the age of reptiles, are called the Heterotheriids. The earliest forms resembled the extinct oreodonts and other primitive herbivores from the Cenozoic, but their dentition was quite different. They gained strenght during the global cooling, and became one the most diverse and cosmopolitan group mammals in the planet.
