Description
During the Cretaceous period the Palkragar seas received a new variety of very unique semiaquatic colonizers from the surface, an unusual class of Avialans (stem-birds) called Hesperornithes, very adapted predatory divers which successfully settled in the region and thrived, very safe from surface cataclysms, they expanded and adapted to different environments for millions of years, taking up most of the open niches available.
In the large reefs of the Icowya Bay, there are some of the most interesting individuals in this group, being one of the largest species, the great Regixornis rhodocolli.
The Regiornis is a large Hesperornithes of about 2 meters, being the males at least slightly larger, with 2.3 meters tall and with a weight about 65 to 80 kg, is a bit clumsy while walking ashore, however, in the ocean is a fairly agile hunter, able to swim with great skill driven by its enormous lobbed feet. in comparison to other Hesperornithes, this one has a rather reduced head but compensated with a longer neck, which in males owns a colorful gular pouch, which is painted a bright red, with drop-shaped orange vertical marks and with a blue dot in the middle, used mainly for exhibition.
